KRAMER
Kramer Guitars is synonymous for its innovation and reputation to challenge the traditional norms of guitar making as evident by their eclectic models.
The company was founded in the late 1970s by Dennis Berardi and Gary Kramer, a close friend and associate of Travis Bean, to manufacture aluminum-necked guitars. Gary Kramer, Dennis Berardi, Peter LaPlaca (a Vice President at Norlin, parent company of Gibson in 1974), and investor Henry Vaccaro joined forces to open a plant in Neptune, New Jersey. Soon thereafter, Gary Kramer moved to Los Angeles, and his connection with the company would become in name only, long before the wooden neck era that began in the 1980s.
Kramer saw popularity and success with artists such as Richie Sambora, Tom Morello, Vivian Campbell and Eddie Van Halen throughout the 1980s. During this time the brand became a leader in providing everyday players the experience of a “custom” designed guitar with speciality pickups and hardware. With iconic models such as the Jersey Star, The 84 as played by Eddie Van Halen and Baretta, Kramer’s reach and impact has influenced generations of metal players from around the world.
